After School Activities for Middle School Youth

Lisa Meecham

Program Director

Shown here with her son Liam Michael McFadden, Lisa Meecham was selected from a group of qualified candidates to be the After School Activities Program Director.

Lisa will work with Pastor Janie, Carol Stirling and Virginia Roberts. Program activities are non-religious but aimed at healthy and strong youth and families. Activities will be coordinated with Irving Middle School and supported by other agencies including School District 25, Bannock Youth Foundation, Idaho State University, United Way of Southeastern Idaho, and District 6 Courts.

Lisa was born in Pocatello but travelled and lived in Washington, Alaska and Montana in her late teens and early twenties. Lisa, age 31, has a degree in Social Work from Idaho State University. Her scholarship and activities have won her positions in the Golden Key and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. Lisa is married to Michael McFadden, a teacher at the Pocatello Community Charter School. Lisa enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping and snowshoeing.

The program is free for students. Contact the office at (208) 232-3056 for registration information.

Some of the activities youth have participated in are “exercising the brain” and a safety presentation by ISU Public Safety. Lisa is planning on starting cooking lessons for the group.

Funding for the program was donated by the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Additional funding from United Way of Southeastern Idaho was granted. The program has a "wish list" of equipment and help.
