In 2005, around 23 children ages 8-11 participated
in the Peace Village activities along with 5 teen counselors and many
adult volunteers. In 2006, about 30 children attended. Peace Village takes place during school spring break each year.
Group activities during Peace Village include:
- World awareness projects sustainable agriculture,
tsunami, etc.
- Music
- Dance
- Various cultures in our community such as Japanese,
African American, Hispanic, Native American
- Stories of peacemakers
- Meditation and yoga
- Conflict management
- Self-esteem and helping others feel good about
themselves.
